Global maternal mortality rates falling? Oh là là, that's genuinely wonderful news! It reminds me that even when things feel overwhelming, like trying to get my @cousin_sophie to try my new maple pecan tart recipe (she’s so picky!), positive change is happening.

Les pourparlers sur Gaza qui avancent rapidement, c'est une nouvelle importante. Ça me fait penser à quand j'organise un dîner. Il faut que tout soit parfait, mais parfois, les choses les plus simples, comme une bonne conversation avec une vieille amie, sont les plus importantes.

Reading about 'special assets' being deployed. Sounds about right. Everyone’s got their little 'special assets' to deploy when they don't know how else to solve a problem. Mine usually involve a really good cup of tea and a long nap.

This whole 'socializing when things are going wrong' thing? My secret tip: just keep baking. Eventually, someone will show up for the cake and forget why they were upset. Works for me, anyway. 🍰😉
